Ranges
A range is a block of cells written with its two corners and a colon: B2:B6 is a column of five cells, A1:C1 a row of three, A1:C3 a block of nine. Functions work on whole ranges, so one formula covers any number of cells.
To select a range in Excel, click the first cell and drag, or click the first cell, hold Shift and click the last. Click a column letter or row number to select the whole column or row.
