Cells, Rows and Columns
A spreadsheet is a grid. Columns have letters (A, B, C...) and rows have numbers (1, 2, 3...). Each box is a cell, named by its column and row: B3 is column B, row 3. A cell can hold a number, text, or a formula. A formula always starts with = and calculates a value from other cells.
In this course each line of an example is one cell: the address, a colon, then what is in the cell. A line starting with = is a formula. Press Run to see the sheet with every formula worked out.
How is the cell in column C, row 5 written?
Add the price of rubbers (B4) and make B5 show the total of B2:B4 with =SUM(B2:B4).
