Using AI Responsibly
AI is a tool, and the person using it remains responsible for the result. Good habits:
- Privacy: do not paste personal, confidential or customer data into a tool unless you know how it is stored and used.
- Honesty: say when AI helped where it matters (exams, journalism, applications), and follow the rules of your school or employer.
- Verification: check anything important before you act on it or publish it.
- Fairness: ask who might be harmed or left out by an automated decision, and keep a person in the loop for high-stakes ones such as hiring, loans or health.
- Credit: do not present AI-generated work as your own where that would mislead.
A simple technique protects privacy in practice: remove or replace identifying details before sharing text with any online tool.
